Abstract: This article provides a scientific and theoretical analysis of the formation and development history of the healthcare system in the territory of Karakalpakstan. The study examines scientific literature and articles on the topic, highlighting their content and essence based on periodization. The author provides a comparative analysis of the chronological approach to works written during the Soviet era, as well as the new methodological principles applied in historical and medical research today. The article examines the source bases of historical and medical research, periodization criteria, and scientific approaches, providing methodological recommendations for future research.
