Abstract: Contemporary television plays a significant role in crime coverage; however, this process is often marked by sensationalism, giving rise to ethical dilemmas and legal challenges. Social media further intensifies these tendencies as algorithms and user engagement often amplify emotionally charged and dramatic content. This article aims to analyze the ethical dimensions of crime reporting on television, examine the role of social media in shaping these practices, and explore their impact on public perception.
