Abstract: In this article, the authors draw readers' attention to the fact that we have summarized the results of our research into the origins of the Cossacks, their social organization, and the relationship of the first free Cossack communities with the Russian state and the development of Siberia and the Far East in the context of the Cossacks' role in this great colonization movement to the East. For this purpose, we used analytical essays and materials from registered mass documentary sources and their chronological thematic registers of records, selected from the expenditure ledgers of the Treasury Prikaz.
