Abstract: This paper considers the problem of transient oscillations of an elastic space with a thick-walled spherical shell bounded by inner and outer concentric spherical surfaces. Exact expressions are obtained for the series coefficients in Laplace images, the originals of which are constructed using residue theory. Analysis of numerical results shows that waves reflected from boundary surfaces affect the stress-strain state of the shell and the surrounding environment.
