Abstract: The article is devoted to some aspects of word formation in the Russian language. The author considers the essential aspects of word formation from the position of the semantic designation of words and the lexical enrichment of the language. The issues of teaching the mother tongue and a foreign language are revealed in the aspect of studying word formation to systematize knowledge in the learning process and mastering students' skills in analyzing the structure of the word and spelling. The article discusses some methods of word formation and provides a comparative analysis of the Russian, English and Uzbek languages, as well as a series of exercises that allow students to master the knowledge of word formation of words and understanding of lexicology and morphology.
