Abstract: Zoonyms also serve as important differentiating signs in the name of orographic objects. In the article, this phenomenon is investigated using examples of the oronims of Southern Uzbekistan. In studying this topic, methods of comparative historical, reconstructive and formative analysis, structuring and comparing language facts were used.
