Abstract: This work presents a numerical study of the ballistic characteristics of monolithic, two- and three-layer metal and ceramic (composite) plates made of steel (or aluminum or a combination thereof) and ceramic fillers. Numerical models using the explicit ABACUS finite element diagram have been developed. The work found ballistic characteristics for monolithic composite slabs. Layered plates with a thin face of a plate made of aluminum and a thick steel sheet exhibit greater strength compared to multilayered steel plates of the same density.
