Abstract: Virtues are moral qualities and principles that make a person good and noble. They include such qualities as honesty, compassion, prudence, kindness, courage and many others. A virtuous person is guided by the desire for goodness and highly moral principles. This article emphasizes the importance of the scientific heritage of Al-Farabi and the concept of a “virtuous person” in the views of scientists, as well as views on a virtuous society and its characteristics. At the same time, the importance of the scientist's scientific heritage today was discussed.
