Abstract: The article examines the specificity of the system of color designations and the symbolism of chromatonyms in the French, Russian and Uzbek languages. Basic and derivative names of colors, as well as their culturally determined meanings, are analyzed. Particular attention is paid to the role of color as an element of the national-linguistic picture of the world, reflecting the values, traditions and associative representations of native speakers. A comparative approach allows us to identify both universal and unique features in the use of color vocabulary, which contributes to a deeper understanding of intercultural communication and linguacultural studies in general.

Key words: color designation, chromatonym, color symbolism, linguaculture, French language, Russian language, Uzbek language, comparative analysis, phraseology, intercultural communication.
