Abstract: This article examines current trends and key features of labor migration in Asian countries, particularly in labor-sending states such as the Philippines and Indonesia. It analyzes the causes of mass emigration of the working-age population, institutional mechanisms for regulating migration flows, and the challenges related to the legal and social protection of migrants. Special attention is given to issues of legal and illegal migration, the high costs of the migration process, and effective state strategies for migration management. The article also addresses the international context of legal regulation of labor migration, including the Global Compact for Migration and the need for countries to join relevant international agreements. The study emphasizes the importance of a more balanced migration policy and the protection of labor migrants’ rights at both regional and global levels.
