Abstract: In the article, the authors examine the inclusion of the Arctic in the orbit of global economic and political interests, accompanied byactive influence on the traditional economy and traditional way of life of the indigenous peoples of the North, namely: development of integration mechanisms for the positive transformation of the economic behavior of indigenous peoples, increasing their subjective and economic well-being. The determinants of economic behavior, including those of small indigenous peoples of the North, have been developed and detailed. Using the works of Russian scientists, examples of the influence of determinants on the formation of the characteristics of economic behavior in the indigenous population and its transformation are presented. Further directions of research are proposed to identify the relationship between economic well-being and life values in representatives of indigenous peoples with reference to location, nationality, and age.
