Abstract: Arabic is one of the oldest languages in the world and has had a significant impact on the development of global civilization. It has served not only as the language of Islamic culture but has also influenced the vocabulary of many European languages, particularly French. This article examines the development of Arabic linguistics, the historical process of borrowing Arabic words into the French language, their semantic and phonetic transformations, and the role of Arabic loanwords in contemporary French. The study highlights the importance of linguistic and cultural interactions between the Arab world and France and demonstrates how Arabic borrowings have enriched the French lexicon in various fields, including science, trade, culture, and everyday communication.
