Abstract: This article examines the formation, theoretical foundations, key concepts, and contemporary approaches to discourse analysis from a scientific perspective. Discourse is considered a multidimensional object of study that has emerged at the intersection of linguistics, philosophy, sociology, psychology, and cultural studies. The paper explores the distinctions between the concepts of text and discourse, discusses the main schools of discourse analysis, outlines its methodological principles, and highlights its potential applications in scientific research.
