Abstract: This article presents a comparative performance test of VMware Workstation and Oracle VirtualBox hypervisors. In order to evaluate the efficiency of each hypervisor, identical virtual machines were deployed on them, the performance of which was measured using the Phoronix Test Suite program. The testing covered the main components of the system: the performance of the processor, RAM, disk subsystem, and two-dimensional graphics. In addition, a synthetic test was conducted for an overall performance assessment. The obtained results provide a comprehensive understanding of the features of each hypervisor and allow us to determine their optimal areas of application depending on specific system requirements.
Key words: VMware Workstation, Oracle VirtualBox, performance test, hypervisor.
