Abstract: This paper examines the pivotal role of adverbial lexemes in the construction of character imagery within literature, with a particular focus on Tologon Kasymbekov's novel *Broken Sword*. Adverbial lexemes, which provide critical information about how, when, where, and to what extent actions occur, significantly enhance the portrayal of characters by adding depth to their motivations, emotions, and behaviors. Through a detailed analysis of various passages in the text, this study reveals how adverbial modifiers contribute to the nuanced representation of characters, influencing readers' perceptions and emotional engagement. The findings suggest that adverbial lexemes are not merely grammatical tools but essential elements that enrich narrative complexity and foster a deeper connection between characters and readers. By illuminating the interplay between language and character development, this research underscores the importance of adverbial usage in literary analysis and character study.
