Abstract: The article provides a detailed analysis of interdisciplinary connections in the process of teaching natural science subjects such as physics and chemistry. In accordance with the generally accepted systematization, content-informational, operational-activity and organizational-methodological approaches to the implementation of interdisciplinary connections between physics and chemistry within the school curriculum were proposed. Within the framework of the natural science cycle, the interrelations between computer science and biology are considered as related scientific fields. The focus is on various models of interaction between a modern teacher and secondary school students (grades 7–9) and high school students (grades 10–11) in the context of interdisciplinary connections as a fundamental principle of the educational process. In the structure of a modern lesson, in accordance with the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standards of the new generation, key elements that determine the stages of planning interdisciplinary connections are reflected. The methods and techniques used in solving interdisciplinary problems in the fields of physics and chemistry are described. A step-by-step system for developing students’ skills in establishing interdisciplinary connections has been developed. As a subsequent scientific article based on this work, preparatory criteria for the selection of educational material for the chapter "Molecular-kinetic theory" in the field of physical chemistry and chemical physics, and possibly other sections of physics and chemistry, are presented. The article represents a significant theoretical and practical study that can be useful for teachers specializing in teaching physics, chemistry and biology. In the context of improving teaching methods in the natural sciences, the article represents a valuable source of information.
