Abstract: This article presents a study of the performance of RAM operations and disk read/write speed in the Linux operating system. The testing was conducted in two environments: directly on the host system and within Docker containers. The study highlights the impact of containerization on performance. The results reveal the reasons for the performance differences, associated with virtualization overhead and limitations of the file system used. The findings can be useful for optimizing application performance in containerized environments.
