Abstract: This article investigates the performance of virtual machines running under the hypervisors VMware Fusion and Oracle VirtualBox on the macOS platform with Apple M1 architecture. Comparative tests are conducted covering key performance metrics such as CPU, memory, and disk subsystem. The test results are analyzed with a focus on the impact of the ARM64 architecture on hypervisor performance, as well as resource management when running multiple virtual machines simultaneously. The article provides recommendations for selecting a hypervisor based on performance and compatibility requirements.
Key words: virtualization, VMware Fusion, Oracle VirtualBox, performance, macOS, ARM64, hypervisors.
