Abstract: In the context of the growing demand for virtualization technologies in modern computing systems, it has become increasingly relevant to study the impact of various factors on the performance of virtualization platforms. This paper presents the results of an experimental comparison of the effectiveness of VMware Workstation and Microsoft Hyper-V hypervisors within the Windows operating system environment. The main objective was to determine how hypervisors affect key system characteristics, including processing power, RAM, I/O speed, and GPU performance. Comprehensive testing was also conducted to obtain an integrated performance assessment. The data obtained will assist in determining the optimal choice of a hypervisor, considering specific requirements for software performance and hardware platform configuration.
