Abstract: The article is devoted to the rationale and description of a quasi-experimental methodology, the «Consumer Profile of Adaptations», developed for studying consumer preferences from the perspective of the personality adaptations model in transactional analysis. The procedure is based on three key approaches: budgeting, ranking of alternatives, and linking product sets to script orientations. Six product sets correspond to six types of adaptive needs. The methodology comprises seven sequential blocks; the paper details their structure, theoretical logic, and intended data analysis. The instrument can be applied in psychological and financial counseling to understand the motivational foundations of a client's consumer and saving strategies based on their personality profile.
Key words: personality adaptations, consumer preferences, Consumer Profile of Adaptations methodology, quasi-experimental design, money attitudes.
